Region Spotlight: Why Tampa Stands Out

Tampa – it’s not just about the beaches or the sunshine. This city boasts a deep-rooted connection to the trucking industry. Here’s why:

  1. Economic Powerhouse: Tampa has a thriving financial, healthcare, and tech industry. As a major port city, it sees substantial shipping traffic, providing a major boost to the local economy.
  2. Strategic Location: Perfectly situated in southeastern USA, Tampa offers easy access to major transportation networks and robust infrastructure suitable for commercial and military activities.
  3. Gateway to the Caribbean and Latin America: With its geographical advantage, Tampa is a hub for international trade.

Tampa’s Industrial Market: By the Numbers

  • Vacancy Rate: A Q1 2023 report by CBRE reported Tampa’s industrial real estate market to have a vacancy rate of 4.7%, beating the national average of 5.5%.
  • Rent Rate: The average asking rent here is $7.59/sq ft, just below the national average of $8.22/sq ft.
